The 8 Ivy League schools are among the most prestigious universities in the world. They consist of Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Brown, and the University of Pennsylvania.

In 2023, all 8 Ivy League schools are ranked in the top-20 of the U.S. News & World Report national university ranking. As you'd imagine, these institutions are highly selective and very hard to get into.

The good news is that they all offer free online course. In this article, I used the Class Central database to compile these courses for you. In total, Ivy League schools currently offer over 850 courses, with 40 million enrollments combined.

The Class Central database has over 100,000 online courses

Last week, I shared a list of free developer certificates. As it happens, one Ivy League school also made that list: Harvard, which offers free certificates in computer science, Python, AI... You can find all the details here: 1000+ Free Developer Certifications.

To make the compilation below a bit easier to navigate, I've broken it down according to the course subject. You may click on a subject to jump to the corresponding courses:

I've also set up a collection on Class Class for Ivy League online courses. This collection gets updated automatically as new courses are released. If you'd like to be notified about new Ivy League courses, you can "Follow" the collection.

Note that figuring out how to audit a course for free on platforms such as Coursera can be a bit confusing. So my colleague Pat and I have written a dedicated guide: How to Sign up for Coursera Courses for Free.

Without further ado, here are all the free online courses offered by Ivy League institutions.
